The Upjohn Institute invites applied PhD economists to apply for a full-time research position.
Established in 1932, the Institute is an endowed, nonprofit research organization that conducts independent, nonpartisan research on employment-related issues. The Institute employs 10 PhD economists and two dozen analysts and support staff. With its endowment, staff economists may pursue topics of their choosing within the Institute’s mission of conducting research related to labor market structure and policies, human capital development, and workplace and compensation-related issues. With its interest in policy-relevant research, staff economists are also expected to seek funding from government agencies, non-profits, or foundations to support their research.
The Institute is searching for candidates who demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills for both academic and lay audiences, and a strong interest in addressing policy-relevant issues.
