The Department of Economics seeks applications to fill one tenure-track position at its campus in Mexico City starting August 2017. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in economics from an accredited institution by August 2017. Candidates are expected to provide evidence of potential to develop an outstanding record of scholarly research in Macroeconomics. We are particularly interested in candidates working in applied macroeconomics (including macroeconometrics).

The Department offers undergraduate and MSc programs in economics. Candidates are expected to provide quality teaching in Macroeconomics at these levels. Expected teaching load is two courses per year.

Knowledge of Spanish is not required, but we expect successful applicants to be able to teach in Spanish within two years following the appointment.

Candidates should include in their cover letter a brief statement of why they are interested in joining the faculty at CIDE. Candidates that do not include this statement will not be considered.
