FIRE is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to defending liberty, freedom of speech, due process, academic freedom, legal equality, and freedom of conscience on our nation’s college campuses. This position will organize a new, national polling effort aimed at uncovering campus attitudes toward student free speech and due process rights on campus. The Polling Analyst will be responsible for working with outside polling partners to conduct three in-depth opinion polls over a two-year period. Other duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Researching and writing polling questions;
• Managing the partnership with polling partners to conduct polls;
• Analyzing polling results;
• Preparing polling reports;
• Setting up a FIRE polling website or landing page;
• Working with FIRE’s communications department to publicize polling results.

The ideal candidate will have either a Ph.D. or masters degree in economics or political science, with experience in statistical modeling. Other candidates with experience transferable to successful public opinion polling will also be considered. This is a two-year, fixed-term position and is part of FIRE’s “Project SOAR,” which was made possible by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation.
