The Department of Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Illinois State University (Normal, Illinois) invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track position at the assistant-professor level in the field of applied microeconomics, more narrowly construed to include subfields within urban and regional, law and economics, health, and education. The expectation is that an appointee will engage in high-quality research, which results in publications in leading general interest and field journals, be an effective teacher at the graduate and undergraduate levels, participate in research with graduate students, supervise MS capstone projects, and provide service to the department, college and university.
A conferred Ph.D. degree in Economics is required prior to appointment start date. Subject to budget contingencies, the appointment will begin as early as August 16, 2017. Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
