Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the largest source of financing for development in Latin America and the Caribbean, wishes to interview Ph.D.-level economists to work in its Research Department (RES) or other areas of the Bank.
IDB research economists publish regularly in refereed academic journals and pursue policy-oriented, analytical research that enlightens the Bank’s work on development challenges and appropriate policy responses. This research also improves the effectiveness and relevance of the Bank’s operations in its member countries.
We are considering new Ph.D. candidates, as well as those who have recently graduated. Successful candidates would possess: (1) strong technical skills; (2) a record of–or good prospects for—high-quality, original research in peer-reviewed journals; and (3) the ability to communicate with a wide range of potential audiences. Preference will be given to candidates who combine a solid academic profile with an interest in policy, and who have worked on topics relevant to development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Areas of Interest: This call is open to all areas of economics.
Staff members of the IDB Research Department will conduct interviews during the 2017 Allied Social Sciences Association (ASSA) Annual Meeting, to be held in Chicago on January 6-8, 2017.
