The Center for Delivery, Organization, and Markets at AHRQ anticipate openings for Ph.D.-level Economists in 2017. The Center includes a team of 30 economists, social scientists, policy analysts, and clinicians who conduct and sponsor cutting-edge research on healthcare affordability, markets, and competition; payment and other financial incentives; and healthcare organization and delivery.

The successful candidate will join a team that conducts original complex research that leads to peer-reviewed policy-relevant publications in economics, health policy, and health services research journals; performs data analyses to inform the Agency and Department on emerging public policy issues; and manages contractor tasks, budgets, and schedules. We are interested in Ph.D. candidates who expect their degrees in 2017, who are interested in health economics, industrial organization, and/or applied econometrics; and who have strong research, applied economics, and econometric skills. Other preferred skills include competency in SAS, Stata, and other statistical software; the ability to work independently and multi-task efficiently; and a desire to work in a multidisciplinary team-oriented environment. The positions have a salary range of $92,145 - $119,794. U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents are eligible. We plan to interview highly qualified applicants at the January 2017 AEA Meetings.
