The Health Economics and Epidemiology Research Office (HE2RO), a collaboration between the University of the Witwatersrand and Boston University, is an internationally recognized health research group focusing on HIV, tuberculosis, NCDs, and other areas of public health. HE2RO is seeking a senior researcher and manager to provide leadership to the organization as its Division Director, reporting to the Division Heads, with the goal of raising HE2RO’s profile domestically and internationally and helping the organization take advantage of new opportunities.
The Division Director will spend approximately half time on division leadership and half on grant-funded research. Leadership responsibilities include overall supervision of financial, contract, and human resource management; expanding collaborations internally and externally; writing grant applications and securing other funding opportunities; managing donor relations; disseminating HE2RO’s work; participating on HE2RO’s leadership team.
Requirements: Advanced degree in a public health, health economics, or medical field; expertise and documented accomplishments in health systems evaluation, health economics, epidemiology, and/or infectious diseases research, including peer-reviewed publications and grants; experience managing organizations or programs at a senior level; experience in raising and managing donor funds;vision for a dynamic, relevant, internationally acclaimed health research organization to meet the challenges of the coming decades.
