The Virginia Tech Economics Department seeks a collegiate faculty member who will contribute to the university’s Data and Decision Sciences initiative. Collegiate faculty members have primary duties in curriculum development and instruction, including upper division teaching, undergraduate research supervision, and related scholarly activity. Appointment at the rank of collegiate assistant professor is preferred, but senior ranks will be considered for exceptional candidates. These are full-time multi-year appointments (three years for assistant collegiate professors, five years for associate collegiate professors, and seven years for collegiate professors), open to indefinite multi-year renewals upon successful review.

This search is a joint effort by several departments in the College of Science. Applicants seeking affiliation with the Department of Economics must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on data-driven techniques and/or the data decision-making interface; have active interest in inculcating these techniques in multiple curricula; and possess strong promise for being a collaborative leader in the instructional mission of the university.
