The Département de finance et économique, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, invites applications for a Tenure-Track Position in International Finance, Capital Markets and Financial Institutions, subject to approval by the relevant authorities. The appointment will commence on December 1, 2017, or as agreed upon with the University.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Finance or Financial Economics with specialization in International Finance and Financial Institutions, with econometric modelling and/or game theory, OR a PhD in Finance or Financial Economics with a thesis defence within 3 months of hire. Teaching experience in the areas of international finance and financial institutions is also required, as is involvement in internal and external academic committees. In addition, the candidate will have research experience in the following areas:
• Publications in journals with impact factors or classification by the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS);
• Participation in conferences such as: American Association, Financial Management, American Economics, Western Finance Association, European Finance Association, and Association of European operational research societies;
• Submissions for research funding.
Note: Knowledge of French is essential for this position.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching, research, and service to the community, and will provide pedagogical direction.
Department faculty members work in the lnstitut de recherche sur les PME (INRPME) and the Laboratoire de recherche et intervention sur le développement de l’entreprise dans les pays en développement (LARIDEPED). Their research activities focus on themes related to entrepreneurial finance, microfinance, crowdfunding, risk management, value diagnosis and creation, business bankruptcy and recovery, monetary policy, international trade and foreign investment, and the International Organization (IO). Their research work is published in journals that are ranked by CNRS and SCopus.
Faculty teach courses in the Bachelor of Business Administration, DESS (Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées) in Finance, MBA and DBA degree programs. In collaboration with the Accounting department, the Finance and Economics department offers a joint program in Financial Planning that enables students to obtain their Financial Planner designation.
