The Research School of Economics (RSE) is seeking to appoint a world leading early career researcher for a prestigious research-focused position. First round interviews will be conducted at the AEA meeting in Philadelphia on 5-7 January 2018.

Applicants will be expected to have completed a PhD in economics and conduct applied economics research (any field) focussing on issues pertaining to the unequal distribution of income and wealth. The appointment will be made at the relevant level according to skills and experience of the successful candidate.

In addition to the standard salary and benefits, the John Mitchell Research Fellowship provides a $100,000 AUD per annum research grant (for seven years), with flexibility to support a range of research activities including international scholarly engagement, conference hosting, purchase of data, and/or the hiring of research assistants. There is also a reduced teaching load.
