The Economic Research Department is looking to hire an experienced Ph.D. economist with research interests in macroeconomics and monetary economics, open-economy macroeconomics, and/or international finance. Primary responsibilities include advising the Bank’s president and senior management on policy issues and presenting research findings in peer-reviewed journals and the Bank’s Economic Review and Macro Bulletin.
The candidate must have a record of producing rigorous research and an established research agenda as demonstrated by several publications in high-quality professional journals. He or she must also have excellent communication skills. For a highly qualified individual, the job title may reflect a higher position.
Research Department economists have access to excellent resources including a collaborative work environment, high-quality research assistants, cutting-edge computing support, and an on-site Federal Statistical Research Data Center. The Department also organizes active seminar, visiting scholar, and visiting co-author programs. The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is an equal-opportunity employer.
