The Central Bank of Chile is looking to fill up a Senior Economist position in its Research Department.

Economists at the Research Department are expected to independently conduct and publish high-quality academic and policy-relevant research, as well as to present their work at international conferences. They should also contribute to writing policy notes, briefing the Board in topics of his/her expertise, and collaborate in the organization of international research conferences and workshops that regularly take place at the Central Bank of Chile.

The Research Department is part of the Research Division. It employs PhD economists graduated from U.S. and European universities, as well as Master-level research assistants who collaborate with the research projects and macroeconomic analysis being carried in the department.

The position will be full time, open ended, and offers an internationally competitive salary and benefit package.

Applicants should have a PhD in Economics or equivalent by July 2018. Experienced, already graduated PhD economists are especially encouraged to apply. Areas of interest should be preferably in monetary policy, international macroeconomics and finance, and macroeconometrics, but applicants with other interests will also be considered.
