The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning August 21, 2019. We seek candidates who are interested in teaching at a liberal arts institution, and whose primary fields of specialization include environmental/ecological economics and history of economic thought/heterodox economics. In addition to teaching courses in these fields, candidates should be willing to teach introductory and intermediate micro or macro, as well as economic statistics. Candidates will also be expected to participate in delivering college-wide first-year/sophomore seminars. The successful candidate will provide evidence of excellence in teaching and commitment to scholarship. Although ABDs will be considered, candidates must complete their PhD by the time they begin their employment at Allegheny. Teaching load is three courses per semester.
