The Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, headed by Prof. Dietmar Harhoff, invites outstanding and motivated researchers to apply as Post-docs in Economics or Management. The term of appointment is three years, but can be extended to six years.
Researchers at the Max-Planck Institute are expected to independently carry out basic research in the fields
• Innovation (e.g. in the context of intellectual property rights, industrial organization, trade, labor and health markets, digitization, economics of science; as well as innovation and technology management)
• Entrepreneurship (e.g. entrepreneurial finance, entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial teams)
• Behavioral Foundations (e.g. incentives for creativity, innovation motives and behavior, inventor characteristics and personality)
and publish their work in leading academic journals. The Institute provides access to an outstanding research infrastructure, including large-scale databases and its own experimental laboratory. The working language is English.

About the position:
• The term of appointment is three years, but can be extended to six years.
• The position does not include teaching obligations.
• The gross salary is based on the Labor Agreement for Public Service (TVöD) and ranges initially, depending on prior work experience, between 54,633 € and 63,326 EUR annually.
Required qualifications:
• Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in economics or business administration, or be close to finishing their Ph.D., and have a strong background either in applied econometrics or in experimental economics.
