The JP Morgan Chase Institute seeks an economist with superior skills in quantitative social science techniques, data science, and management to lead and conduct consumer research. This individual will drive impact by leveraging proprietary big data to scope new and existing consumer research while leading a fast paced collaborative team of research professionals. The ideal candidate will serve as an ambassador and expert on behalf of JPMorgan Chase Institute’s research to relevant decision makers – policymakers , businesses, and non-profit leaders – as well as communities of influence, including academics, data scientists, advocates, and the media.
Candidate Qualifications:
•Master’s degree required; PhD preferred in relevant discipline
•5+ years of research and data analytics experience
•2+ years of leadership and project management experience
•Experience analyzing big data (e.g., 1,000,000+ data points) and strong programming experience;
•Preferred languages include (SQL, R, Python, Scala)
•Experience with big data computing on a Hadoop platform (e.g. Spark, Hive) and working with big data collaboration tools (git, Jira) are a plus.
•Demonstrated understanding of and experience with publically available microeconomic data sources on the US population.
•Experience managing projects, ideally within a research setting.
