The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the Aviation and Airways Trust Fund (AATF) and evaluating the policy and economic impacts of changes to fees and taxes. May also be responsible for developing, executing, and/or maintaining the capability to allocate FAA costs and revenues, and for performing policy or economic analysis of relevant topics, as required by the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018. May also help develop or review and comment on policy implications of economic studies on subjects relied to the aviation industry.
May participate in, and may lead, the development, facilitation, coordination, and implementation of legislative proposals and other novel and crosscutting FAA policies, goals, and priorities.
May apply skill in economics and a comprehensive knowledge of the aviation industry, including innovative finance, to provide analysis of events which may impact the aviation sector. Represent the office to provide swift responses and analysis for matters related to aviation taxes and fees and other policy or economic issues.
Participate in, and occasionally lead the coordination and preparation of official agency positions, working across the FAA and with other agencies to ensure completeness and concurrence. Responsibilities include the preparation and presentation of talking points and briefing materials for senior executives.
