Education Analytics (EA) is a non-profit organization that uses rigorous data analysis to inform education research, management, and policy decisions.
Principal Researchers at EA lead applied, rigorous statistical research; collaborate with external partners and internal staff; and use a mix of analytic, communication, project management, and leadership skills to make substantive contributions to educational data analysis, measurement, and policy.
Responsibilities:
Developing statistical models for educational applications using econometrics, linear regression, multilevel/hierarchical linear modeling, Bayesian methods, propensity score matching, and/or machine learning.
Securing external funding for research initiatives (e.g., from foundations, federal funding agencies, etc.)
Writing grant applications, conference proposals, journal manuscripts, and working papers for publication
Collaborating with/supervising analysts/engineers to implement models for external partners and internal research
Co-creating written documentation (technical memos, policy briefs, partner reports, practitioner guidebooks) for technical and non-technical audiences
Skills and Experience:
Ph.D. in Economics or related field
10+ years of postdoctoral research experience
Proven track record of securing funding for research
Experience managing teams
Deep knowledge of statistical approaches for educational applications
Excellent problem-solving and systems-thinking skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Customer-service and entrepreneurial orientation to working with partners
Desire to work in a team environment at a fast-growing, fast-paced nonprofit
