Job Description: Senior Manager, IDEA Initiative, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)-Innovations in Data and Experiments for Action Initiative, to lead J-PAL’s new IDEA Initiative, which aims to increase the use of administrative data by governments, nonprofits, and private firms for evidence-informed decision-making. Responsibilities include creating resources including guidelines, best-practice papers, case studies, instructions, and toolkits on key topics regarding administrative data; working with leading experts to curate and edit a handbook that provides guidance to data producers on making administrative data more accessible and to applied researchers on processing and using this data; identifying and building collaborations with, and capacity of, data producers who can be long-term strategic partners; overseeing efforts to lean the data accessed by strategic partners and performing basic analysis and descriptive work that helps these policymakers move towards more data-driven decisions and encourages them to make data available for research/experiments; and working with senior leadership on fund-raising and managing calls for proposals.
