Convoy, one of the fastest growing startups in the U.S., is transforming the $800 billion trucking industry. Founded in 2015, Convoy is backed by investors such as CapitalG, Greylock Partners, and Y Combinator.

Economists and Data Scientists are at the core of Convoy’s platform. We build the models that power freight pricing, bidding, matching, and other critical services. We also forecast business metrics, evaluate the causal impact of decisions, design experiments to optimize our product, and generate insights for our customers. The breadth of the problems space is huge and we have only begun to dig into the complex and diverse economic problems in our two-sided marketplace. Convoy is looking to add several more Senior or Principal Economists to its Data Science team.

The ideal candidate would have:
* PhD in Economics, Finance, or related field
* 5+ years of post-PhD experience
* Strong R and/or Python programming skills
* Background in applying economics to solving business problems in a tech-driven environment
