The University of Virginia's Department of Economics of the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences invites applications for a position at the tenure-track or tenured ranks in the applied microeconomics, with a particular emphasis on labor economics. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in the application of frontier methods to questions across subfields such as education, health, aging, search methods, personnel economics or economics of the family. Candidates are expected to have an outstanding research record relative to rank, along with the capacity to teach and advise diverse Ph.D. students in their research.
Candidates will be expected to teach labor economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels and provide service to the University, Department and professional organizations. The Department aims to recruit faculty dedicated to building and extending a top-tier research portfolio, including developing external funding to support research endeavors.

The anticipated appointment start date will be Fall 2020. Applicants must be on track to receive a Ph.D. in the relevant field by May 2020 and must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment.
