The Computing and Mathematical Sciences (CMS) Department in the Division of Engineering and Applied Science and the Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the intersection of computer science, operations research, and social science. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to) algorithmic game theory; social learning and dynamics in games; social choice; fairness and ethics; privacy; mechanism design, pricing, and auctions; market design; and matching markets. Caltech is a unique environment where research in computer science, operations research, and economics is conducted in a collegial and interdisciplinary atmosphere. A commitment to world-class research, as well as high-quality teaching and mentoring, is expected. The initial appointment at the assistant professor level is for four years, and is contingent upon the completion of a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics, computer science, economics, operations research, statistics, or in a related field in engineering or the social sciences.
