The School of Economics at the Georgia Institute of Technology seeks to hire an econometrician who demonstrates strong interests in applied topics. Preference will be given to applicants whose research focus is big data, causal inference, and/or panel data methods. The successful candidate will have research interests that have high synergistic potential with the faculty in the School of Economics and other units at Georgia Tech, and will be expected to teach advanced econometrics courses at the Ph.D. level, as well as applied econometrics and big data courses at the B.S. and M.S. level.
Georgia Tech is a Research I institution, ranked 5th nationally among public universities, and offers significant opportunities for collaborative research and teaching across complementary disciplines such as computing, industrial and systems engineering, electrical and environmental engineering, international affairs, public policy, urban planning and management.
Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in economics or a related field prior to employment. More senior applicants should have a record of excellence in scholarship and teaching commensurate with their time in rank. Junior applicants should show promise for both research and teaching excellence.
