The Department of Economics at the University of Wyoming invites nominations and applications for the John S. Bugas Professor in Economics, a chaired professorship established in 1974 to provide intellectual leadership in applied economics, especially for natural resources and environmental policy. The successful applicant will be a distinguished scholar in economics who has made substantive contributions to economic policy. Exceptional candidates of all ranks will be considered. Applicants should hold an appropriate doctoral degree and have exceptional research and teaching records. Salary and start-up package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
As a prominent faculty leader at Wyoming, the Bugas Professor will join an institution with momentum and great aspirations. The Department has an internationally ranked Ph.D. program in applied microeconomics. The person is expected to maintain a productive research program, be involved in the supervision of graduate students, and can teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate an ability to raise external funding to support research and training.
Minimum Qualifications

Desired Qualifications
A demonstrated record of research publication in high-quality journals, as well as evidence of on-going high-quality research publication potential. An excellent teaching record. A strong service record including evidence of the ability to advise student organizations and effectively contribute to college strategic initiatives.
