The Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (EXIM) is an independent federal government agency that serves as the official export credit agency of the United States. EXIM’s mission is to provide financing for U.S. exports, thereby promoting and sustaining U.S. jobs.
The incumbent serves as EXIM’s Chief Economist and Vice President of the Country Risk and Economic Analysis Division (CREA). The Chief Economist supervises a team of economists that evaluates country risk in emerging markets. This primarily involves the preparation of country risk assessments that are used by: 1) the EXIM Bank Board of Directors in evaluating transactions and determining country cover policy, 2) the Office of Management and Budget in its evaluation of emerging market risk, and 3) the OECD in setting minimum pricing by member export credit agencies. The incumbent also plans, directs, and manages the research activities of CREA and provides technical guidance to EXIM senior management, both within and outside of the Credit and Risk Management Group.
