Economic Development and Economic History

The Department of Economics and the Global Political Economy Program, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Manitoba invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Economic Development and Economic History. A PhD (or near completion) in Economics, or a cognate discipline, is required. The candidate should be able to demonstrate promise of excellence in teaching and research in economic development, economic history and historical political economy. Familiarity with heterodox approaches to economics is preferable. The candidate would preferably have an active research program in economic development with a focus on North American Indigenous communities. Responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, graduate supervision, a productive research program, and service-related activities.

The appointment may begin on or after July 1, 2020. The salary for the position will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate.
