The RAND Corporation, a global leader in public policy research, is seeking a recognized scholar and dynamic leader to fill its endowed Chair in Taiwan Policy Studies. The Chairholder will develop and manage a research agenda on Taiwan’s policies for sustainable growth and will build partnerships with research institutes in Taiwan.
The Chair will collaborate across disciplines with researchers in fields such as economics, engineering, law, natural sciences, political science, psychology, sociology, national security, and statistics; a multidisciplinary approach to research and analysis is a hallmark of RAND research.
Qualifications
All research positions at RAND require excellent analytic skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both orally and in writing; the ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team; and a strong commitment to RAND's core values of quality and objectivity. Other requirements for the Hu Chair:
• Ph.D. in public policy, economics or international development, or
o Ph.D. in adjacent fields with relevant experience in the social sciences or international relations
• Fluency in Mandarin.
Applicants with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in an academic or non-academic research setting preferred.
