Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics
Haverford College invites applications for a full-time visiting position in the Economics Department starting in the 2020-2021 academic year, with possibility of renewal for a second year contingent upon budgetary approval and the completion of a successful performance review. The visitor will be expected to teach a total of five courses, including introductory economics, intermediate macroeconomics, and elective courses related to macroeconomic and/or monetary issues. Candidates will be supervising senior capstone projects and should provide evidence of a vigorous commitment to scholarship and excellence in undergraduate teaching. The department especially seeks candidates with interest and capacity to teach and retain a broad and diverse student body. Candidates for the position should have a Ph.D. by August 2020. Applicants should submit the following: (1) a cover letter; (2) a CV; (3) a statement of teaching philosophy and experience, and evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) one or more recent research papers, and: (5) three confidential letters of recommendation, one of which addresses teaching.
