R4D, a leading non-profit global development partner, is recruiting for an Education Researcher to serve as a key member of its Evaluation and Adaptive Learning (EAL) and Education teams. We work with partners to devise strategies to address education problems, and to generate evidence as they design, test, and iterate on them.
The DC-based researcher will conduct policy research and program evaluation to improve the delivery, quality, equity, and financing of education systems. The researcher will advise on overall evaluation strategy and design, contribute technical expertise to a broad array of projects, and lead project-specific evaluation and learning efforts.
We are looking for someone who has a Ph.D. in economics, education, public policy, or a relevant field; 3-5 years of experience in evaluation, research, or policy design; a strong foundation in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods; a broad understanding of education policy issues; and strong written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will be energetic, mission-driven and collaborative with experience conducting in-country evaluation design, data collection, analysis and presentation. The researcher must be willing to travel to developing countries up to 25%.
