This full-time research assistant position is for a highly motivated and organized individual who wants to gain research experience in the economics of education and applied microeconomics. The Research Assistant will help investigate the impact of a major school desegregation program on students’ academic, employment, civic engagement, housing and neighborhood choice, social, and other outcomes.
The Research Assistant will work on a range of research tasks, including managing data collection, data analysis, creating and managing research datasets using Stata, and preparing analyses for presentations and research papers.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, education, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. Strong quantitative and programming skills are required. Prior research experience and experience with Stata, R, or a comparable software package is strongly preferred. This position is intended to act as a pathway to graduate school for candidates who plan to apply to an Economics, Public Policy, Education, or related Ph.D. program in the future. The Research Assistant will gain experience at all ranges of the research process as they learn to become more independent researchers and to communicate research evidence to an academic, policy, and general audiences
