Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Treasury Department's Office of Financial Analysis has an opening in 2020 for a well-qualified economist. The office produces the suite of yield curves for the public including the High Quality Market (HQM) Corporate Bond Yield Curve used for the Pension Protection Act and the Treasury Nominal Coupon-Issue (TNC) Yield Curve. The office develops and supports all aspects of the yield curve production, including analysis of bond markets and development and programming of methodology of bond market mathematics. In addition, the office provides analysis to senior Treasury and Administration officials on related topics such as financial market movements and pension issues, and staff may also pursue their own research agenda, as time allows.
The work requires skills usually associated with a Ph.D. in economics or business or similar degree. In addition, successful candidates must have the ability to analyze bond markets and develop and program bond market computations.
