The Smith Institute for Political Economy and Philosophy at Chapman University seeks up to two (2) research associates (postdoctoral scholars) for a two-year term, beginning in August 2021. Candidates with strengths in political economy, economic history, experimental economics, and culture and economics are particularly welcome, but we will seriously consider any candidate interested in pursuing work that cuts across the social science disciplines or the humanities more broadly.
Research associates will be expected to teach one course per year. Candidates should have received their PhD (or equivalent) prior to beginning the position and should address in their cover letter how their research and teaching fit with the mission of the Smith Institute. We seek candidates with the ability to generate and publish research of the highest quality.
Review of applications will begin on December 1st, 2020 and continue on a rolling basis until March 1st, 2021.
