The IGIER research center of Bocconi University, Italy (www.igier.unibocconi.it), is seeking to fill 1 post-doc research position for the research project "StereoPol: Psychology and Economic Behavior: Theory, Tests and Applications" MIUR FARE (CUP: J42F17000260001).
The appointment will start in July 2021.
Candidates will be interviewed online and the contracts will run for one year with the possibility of renewal.
The position is funded as part of the research project StereoPol which seeks to understand the influence of psychology and in particular of human memory on voters’ political preferences and cultural values, and how these preferences and values affect the political system. The project involves : i) measuring voters’ preferences and values, ii) studying how these depend on the past experiences of voters and/or of their own socio-economic group, and iii) studying their implications for politics.
The profile for the position is that of an applied microeconomist, with experience in and knowledge of political economy, and ideally familiar with behavioral economics. More specifically, the required skillset comprises:
- Data collection and organization (in particular surveys, existing and newly creates).
- Knowledge of standard econometric techniques and of the statistical software needed to implement them.
- Interest in political economics
