The JPMorgan Chase Institute seeks a team leader with superior skills in quantitative social science techniques, data science, and management to lead and conduct local economic development research. This individual will drive impact by leveraging proprietary administrative data to scope new and existing research while leading a fast paced collaborative team of research professionals.
Candidate Qualifications:
• Master’s degree required; PhD preferred in relevant discipline
• 5+ years research/data analytics experience
• Experience writing modular / reusable code to manage large data sets (e.g. millions of records) and perform statistical analyses on large data sets
• Experience with Scala, Python, and / or SQL preferred
• Experience with distributed Hadoop platform tools (e.g. Spark, Hive) and collaboration tools (git, Jira) is a plus
• Strong background in microeconomics and econometrics, or other relevant empirical social science
• Demonstrated understanding of and experience with publically available data sources on the economic activity in the US
• 2+ years of leadership and project management
• Ability to synthesize and present key messages for lay audiences
• Experience leading, managing, and developing individuals and teams within in a research setting. Preference and desire to work in team-based environment committed to learning and inclusion
