The Department of Economics seeks applicants for one or two one-year visiting assistant professor positions beginning July 1, 2021. We seek candidates who are prepared to teach economic statistics (i.e., introductory econometrics), principles of microeconomics, and one or more electives of their design. Teaching load is two courses each semester. Classes are all smaller than 40 students; many are considerably smaller than that. We prefer that requirements for the Ph.D. are completed at the time of appointment, but advanced ABDs will be considered.
Successful applicants should demonstrate a promise of dedication to equity and inclusion in the undergraduate classroom. Bowdoin is a learning community that warmly welcomes people of all backgrounds. We encourage applications from candidates committed to the instruction and support of a diverse student population and from those who will enrich and contribute to the College’s multifaceted diversity. We especially encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply.
Review of applications will begin on February 22, 2021 and continue until the position is filled.
