This is a full-time research assistant position for a highly skilled, motived individual looking to work for six-months on topics related to economics of intellectual property. The full-time research assistant will have a number of jobs in their capacity as RA. Specifically, their job will include entrepreneurial data acquisition, text matching, data parsing, cleaning and analysis. The candidate will be handling large datasets, so previous experience with programs such as Python is also preferred. The candidate will work full time on the projects under the National Science Foundation funded grant moving forward the funded agenda of “Assessing the Impact of Non-Practicing Entities on U.S. Innovation.” The candidate’s duties will include data acquisition through many sources.
Candidates will be someone with an advanced graduate degree, displaying skills in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and economics. The applicant must have extensive programming experience in Python, Perl, etc. These programming skills will be especially critical to executing the research projects undertaken. Background in economics is a plus, but not necessary – we welcome candidates with strong technical backgrounds who are looking for more exposure to economics. Prior research assistant experience is strongly preferred.
