The Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability (CDES) is one of the four research centres at the Monash Business School located in Melbourne. The research centres bring together researchers from a variety of academic backgrounds engaged in global sustainable development issues.

The Associate Professor (Research Only) will play a major role in implementing the centres strategic mission to conduct and promote high-quality policy relevant research on major global issues in development and sustainability, and enhance research capacity and knowledge in these areas.

This position will lead research, raise external funding and engage with external researchers, practitioners (such as NGOs and industry engagement) outside academia to promote CDES as the premier research centre in the area of development and sustainability.

The successful candidate will hold a doctoral qualification in Economics and hold a strong track record of publishing research in high quality journals along with obtaining external research grants will be critical. The candidate must also demonstrate experience in leading large research project teams with a commitment to the principles of responsible management education (PRME) and the globally responsible leadership initiative (GLRI).
