The Center for Demography of Health and Aging at the University of Wisconsin- Madison invites applications for a NIH-funded postdoctoral traineeship. The program develops the research and professional skills of recent PhDs with interests in the social, economic, geographic, and biological determinants of longevity and health. There is an emphasis on the study of genetic and epigenetic biomarkers and recent initiatives to expand research on cognitive health and disparities. Postdoctoral scholars devote most of their time to independent research and collaboration with faculty mentors. The appointment is for one year with the possibility of extending for a second year, contingent on continued funding. To comply with NIH policy, candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and must have completed all doctorate requirements by the time of the appointment. Review of application will begin on August 15, 2021. Appointments can start as early as September 2021 but start dates through February 2022 are possible.
