The Department of Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics, in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at the University of Manitoba, seeks highly-qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment may begin on or after January 1, 2022. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applicants must possess, or be nearing completion of, a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Economics, Business, or a related area. The successful applicant will have strong analytical skills, with demonstrated expertise in advanced quantitative and statistical methods applied to the economics of food and agriculture.

The successful applicant will:
• Develop an internationally-recognized research program, which will include publishing in top-ranked peer-reviewed scientific journals and securing competitive research funding.
• Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and supervise graduate student research projects.
• Contribute service to the discipline closest to their degree, as well as to the province, university, faculty, and department.
• Have excellent communication skills and be able to work well individually and collegially within a diverse interdisciplinary environment.
• Engage with government, industry, and other stakeholders.
