Full Text of JOE Listing:

STATEC Research is looking for a well-being researcher to join the research division of the Statistical Office of Luxembourg (STATEC). This is a full-time position. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of extension. We offer an attractive salary and research allowance.

STATEC Research aims to better understand Luxembourg's social and economic development in a comparative perspective, and emphasizes research crucial to the public and policy makers. More details on STATEC and STATEC Research are available here:

The main goal of the position is to contribute to the team’s well-being research agenda. In particular, the successful candidate will provide policy-relevant evidence on the causes and consequences of well-being, and, possibly, measure, nowcast and forecast well-being using Big Data and machine learning techniques. The results of this research will be disseminated to both the scientific community and wider audiences.

Candidates should have a PhD in economics or similar quantitative social science.
