RTI International has an opening for a Senior Food and Agricultural Economist within its Center for Applied Economics and Strategy (CAES). The center has a diverse portfolio of contract- and grant-funded research in the areas of the food and agriculture; environment and natural resources; and energy, innovation, and economic development. CAES is especially interested in candidates with prior experience conducting analyses of policies and programs affecting the food, agriculture, and related sectors.

Qualifications:
• Ph.D. degree in a relevant field with relevant work experience or a Master’s degree and five years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated programming, data management, and analysis skills, including experience with relevant software.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting economic analysis of food and agricultural policy.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working on food, agriculture, and environmental topics in the U.S. and internationally.
• Demonstrated applied modeling experience in the food and agriculture sector.
• Demonstrated experience in partial equilibrium modeling, computable general equilibrium and/or other relevant optimization modeling experience.
• Demonstrated experience with programing in R.
