The Department of Economics at Bowdoin College invites applications for two tenure-track positions beginning July 1, 2022. We intend to hire at the rank of assistant professor, but exceptional senior candidates will also be considered. The positions are open field, although we are especially interested in candidates with expertise in applied microeconomics. A PhD is expected by the date of appointment.

The successful applicants will teach at least one course in their fields of expertise and at least one intermediate core (microeconomics, macroeconomics or economic statistics) or principles course each year. Topics of interest include: health economics, the economics of poverty and inequality, public finance, industrial organization, economic development, or international trade. Teaching load is two courses per semester. We are especially interested in candidates able to make a connection with Bowdoin’s various interdisciplinary departments and programs, such as the Health, Society, and Culture Initiative; Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies; Africana Studies; Asian Studies; Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies; and/or Digital and Computational Studies.
