The Asia Health Policy Program (AHPP) at the Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center at Stanford University invites recent doctoral graduates studying health policy in Asia to apply for the 2022-23 Asia Health Policy postdoctoral fellowship. We seek a recent PhD with experience working in policy and/or undertaking policy-related fieldwork before or during their doctoral studies and who is eager to help curate a series of interesting seminars or webinars about health policy across the region, while working on their own research.
We welcome fellowship applications from candidates studying evidence-based health policy using a variety of disciplinary perspectives. Applicants from low-income Asian countries receive priority, all else equal. Applicants cannot be more than three years past the awarding of their doctoral degree and must plan to have degree conferral no later than June 30, 2022.
The fellow must be in residence for the duration of the appointment and organize 4-6 webinars or hybrid colloquia with invited speakers or panelists discussing topics on Asia health policy. Fellows are also required to present their research findings in Center seminars and to participate in the Center’s publication program. The postdoctoral fellowship is at minimum a 10-month appointment with a salary rate of $60,000, or commensurate with Stanford policy, plus $2,000 for research expenses. The 2022-23 AHPP postdoctoral fellow will be eligible for a two-year fellowship, if the applicant presents a compelling proposal for hosting AHPP events in the first year; please see our 2020-21 webinar series for examples.
Applicants must submit a 2-page proposal for organizing a series of AHPP hybrid events in 2022-23, with examples of topics and speakers you plan to invite, and discussion of how a two-year appointment would support your research and career goals.
Submit your AHPP proposal, a cover letter, your curriculum vitae, and arrange for two letters of recommendation to be emailed directly to llee888@stanford.edu. The deadline to apply is Monday, January 3, 2022.
