Research addressing racial, ethnic, or gender inequality is of particular interest, as is research that extends beyond the boundaries of the US economy. Open to any subfield, including but not limited to behavioral, development, health, education, industrial organization, labor, market design, networks, public, or urban economics.

Full Job Description:

Job Responsibilities: The successful candidates will be expected to teach in the Master of Science in Applied Economics and the undergraduate program. The standard teaching load for this position at USF is two 4-unit courses per semester with an additional third course every fourth semester (2-2-2-3 over two years). Thesis advising counts toward teaching load. In addition, the successful candidates will be expected to engage in service to the department and college, as well as maintain an active research program that engages students when possible.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in economics or a related field by August 2022. Candidates must have experience teaching at the university level, evidence of research potential, and an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the University of San Francisco. Additional post-PhD experience as a post-doctoral fellow, assistant professor, or in the public or private sector is welcome but not required. The successful candidates must be able to offer their reflections on equity, and strategies for success in engaging with BIPOC students.

Applications must be submitted online at https://apptrkr.com/2520751. Applicants should submit a cover letter briefly outlining your research agenda and teaching interests and how those would fit with the Applied Economics program, curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts, evidence of teaching ability (e.g., sample syllabi, teaching evaluations, statement of teaching philosophy), a diversity statement (which may include your thoughts and/or experiences concerning equitable education for underserved and marginalized communities, your commitment to or experience with broadening participation in the field, experience working on a diverse team, and/or experience working with different communication/learning styles), and three letters of recommendation. Additional materials may be requested later in the process.
