The Department of Economics at the University of Pretoria seeks to hire a Senior Lecturer (equivalent to an Assistant Professor in the US) in the field of empirical microeconomics, to start on July 1, 2022. Candidates in labour, health, development, or allied fields of economics are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will have a PhD or be expected to have one by the time of appointment, and must demonstrate:
- clear potential to publish in top-ranked scholarly journals
- the ability to teach successfully at undergraduate or postgraduate level
- a commitment to training and mentoring postgraduate students in research

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, job market paper, transcripts and teaching evaluations through JOE. Applicants must also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted .
