The Treasury Department's Office of Macroeconomic Analysis has an opening for a well-qualified economist (new graduate and mid-career). The office provides analysis to senior Treasury and Administration officials on current and future developments in the U.S. economy that cut across all economic sectors as well as monetary and fiscal developments. Economists on staff work closely with top policy-makers throughout the Federal Government. The work requires skills usually associated with a Ph.D. in economics or finance or a similar degree. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, successful candidates must have the ability to present their views clearly and concisely and to prepare analysis, both oral and written, in tight time frames. Must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Nationals at the time of application.
