The Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT) invites applications for one tenure-track assistant/associate professor position in the Department of Economics and Finance starting August 2022. Candidates are expected to teach in the graduate program MS in Business Analytics and undergraduate analytics courses. Applicants with a significant record of achievement and publications may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor; ABDs considered but must finish Ph.D. by August 15, 2022.

The ideal candidate has a terminal degree in computer science, economics, applied mathematics, statistics, or related field. Experience applying analytics and statistics in real-world applications is a plus. The successful candidate will work with faculty across business disciplines to develop curricula and co-curricular activities to support a growing interest in business/data analytics. Strong applicants are versatile, with an ability to teach a variety of courses in the analytics field.

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

Teach data analytics courses: e.g. introductory Python, data mining, data visualization, data-driven economic analysis, insurance analytics

Conduct quality research in data analytics

Contribute to innovative curricular development

Participate in department-, school-, and university-level service

Advise students and student organizations

Solid background in statistics & programming language, such as Python, is required.
