The Brookings Institution is accepting applications for a Senior Fellow position within its Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). CSD generates leading research and practical insights to advance global sustainable development and implement the Sustainable Development Goals within and across all countries. This new Senior Fellow position will focus on the economics and broader policy dimensions of advancing gender equality. The successful candidate will be a senior economist of international stature, with an extensive track record in advancing the nexus of research, policy, and practice on topics pertinent to gender equality across diverse global policy environments and multiple dimensions of sustainable development. As a member of CSD’s senior scholar group, the Senior Fellow will contribute to both collaborative CSD activities like the 17 Rooms initiative and to their own independent research projects. At the scholar’s discretion, research projects may be pursued jointly with other scholars across Brookings and other academic institutions, with special efforts to foster a network of collaborators across low- and middle-income countries. The position is expected to work on policy-relevant papers and/or books; lead high-level, issue-focused meetings, conferences, and events; and interact with other Brookings scholars, wider research and policy communities, current and potential funders, and the media.
