The application cycle is open for the 2022-23 USC Berggruen Fellowship Program. The Program is a partnership between the Center on Science, Technology and Public Life at USC and the Berggruen Institute. The program will host up to 10 fellows for 2022-23, from a range of disciplines, working on major shifts in the world’s fundamental systems. Programmatic areas for research include: the Planetary, Future of Capitalism, and the Future of Democracy. For full descriptions of the programmatic areas and projects, find out more here.

USC Berggruen Fellows can be either academics or non-academics (for whom the fellowship may serve as a retreat from work in industry, government, or the arts) but above all must be committed to intellectual work of the highest quality. Applicants should have a terminal degree or commensurate research expertise in the appropriate field of study.

All applications must include a full curriculum vitae, project statement (up to 750 words), two reference letters, and a writing sample. All materials must be uploaded via the USC application portal. Link:
