Description
The Department invites applications from exceptional candidates to fill the endowed Dr. Kerry Litzenberg Sales and Economics Chair position in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University. The position of Professor and holder of the Dr. Kerry Litzenberg Sales and Economics Chair is a full time tenured position with a 9 month appointment. The anticipated start date for this position is August 1, 2022.
The holder of the Chair will provide leadership to advance the goals and the brand of the Weston AgriFood Sales Program by conducting internationally prominent research. The successful applicant will demonstrate an impactful research program on the theories, methods, and practices broadly related to business-to-business selling. The research agenda may emerge from the disciplines of business, managerial economics, and the behavioral sciences. Scholarship that integrates these disciplines and demonstrates impact is expected.
Research areas could include, but are not limited to: sales theories, tactics and best practices; customer relationship management; the development of client trust and related marketing issues; or ethics in professional business-to-business selling.
The Litzenberg Chair will participate in mentoring, teaching, and assisting in the recruitment of a diverse student body. One undergraduate class per semester is expected and teaching in the graduate program is a possibility.
Other duties are to participate in curriculum and policy development related to the Weston AgriFood Sales minor (https://westonagrifoodsales.tamu.edu/) in consultation with the administrative leadership of the department; and to engage with the instructional team in the agricultural economics department to assure that the sales curriculum is current, informed by scholarship, and makes a positive contribution to the sales profession, industry stakeholders, and the department’s climate.
