The Workforce of the Future Initiative at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC is seeking a Project Manager/Senior Research Analyst to support research to inform policy at the intersection of industrial development, worker mobility, and urban growth. The PM/SRA will bring a mix of creativity, data analytics, and systematic project management skills. A flexible and entrepreneurial mindset will be essential. The selected candidate could alternatively serve as a Post-Doctoral Fellow if qualified.
The position will add to a team that is 1) doing independent research on topics in labor and urban economics, and 2) building data-driven solutions that help policymakers catalyze worker mobility and inclusive growth, drawing from a variety of fields including network science, economics, and regional development. The position will require leading a small research team while managing all aspects of a project, including administrative tasks and interactions with the public and policymakers.
The ideal candidate will have project management experience, a background in applied research (data analytics, econometrics), interest in engaging with policymakers. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated expertise in urban or labor economics and have experience with public datasets such as the ACS, CPS, NLSY, LEFD, O*NET, and OES.
